Funny Games US film review: êêêê
Michael Haneke's Funny Games, a shot-for-shot remake of the critically-acclaimed 1997 horror/thriller of the same name, is a strangely quiet, slow-burning masterpiece of a movie. The acting, the disturbing violence, and the unpredictable ending make for one hell of a "game." In fact, the movie is often almost so realistic that it's difficult to watch. In the bigger picture, the movie has a fantastic message behind it. Why are we so obsessed with watching violence? Can you tolerate just sitting back and watching as something very real is occurring on the screen? The movie is cleverly crafted so that the audience almost feels responsible for all of the horrible things that happen to the characters in this movie. Funny Games stars Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Michael Pitt, Devon Gearhart, and Brady Corbet, and it is written and directed by Michael Haneke. In my opinion this film is brilliant and deserves every good review it gets. 4/5

Come Around Sundown – Kings Of Leon êêê
Long awaited, Kings of Leon’s 5th studio album is here. Come around sun down is maybe not what you would expect from the Nashville born band. It has a slow beachy sound to it which is perfect if you’re in the mood for chilling out. Not their best album by a long shot and you will be thoroughly disappointed if you’re a big fan of their early work (youth and young manhood, aha shake heartbreak, because of the times). I am expecting to see a lot of bad reviews on this album, as if follows the bands smash hit ‘only by the night’ which became a worldwide phenomenon and bought the band much of the success they have today. I suspect a lot of people will love it and just as many people will hate it, in my opinion it’s ok, but I was expecting a lot more from the boys after they were comparing it to their first album ‘youth and young manhood’. All in all, a good album but I wanted more. 3/5
