Analysis Of A College Magazine

The first thing I noticed about this magazine is the main image, it is of a tin of soup, which is obviously associated with the name of the magazine which is 'soup'. I think this suggests that students can't look after themselves and can only cook basic things such as soup and other canned foods. Also the tin is on a hob, further suggesting they can't look after themselves. In the background of the image there is what seems to be some sort of music system, as there is dials etc. This is here because people know students are interested in music and this will draw a students attention to this particular magazine as things they are interested in are included on the front cover. The cover of the magazine is modern, it has a modern pattern with the circles and the squashed together writing. The main colours of the magazine are red, white and black which all stand out when they are put together in this format.
